Bid on SUBWAY Celebrity Baseballs To Help Urban Little Leagues
As part of their advocacy to help urban little leagues, SUBWAY® restaurants unveiled designed baseballs autographed by famous fans and celebrities and athletes.
The baseballs were designed by young artists and will be viewed in SUBWAY DeSIGNS tours to four cities in United States. The first exhibit will be at 2011 SUBWAY® National Little League® Baseball Appreciation Game at La Cienega Park in Los Angeles.
Among those who signed the baseballs are musician Katy Perry, actor Zac Efron, rock band Maroon 5, gold medal-winning swimmer Michael Phelps, pro-football’s Drew Brees, baseball star Ryan Howard, basketball Rookie of the Year Blake Griffin, NASCAR driver Carl Edwards, tennis superstars Serena and Venus Williams, celebrity chef, Robert Irvine and Jared Fogle (the “SUBWAY® guy”).
Moreover, Orel Hershiser, Laila Ali, Justin Tuck, Mark Ingram, David Wright, Michael Strahan, Josh Johnson, Hanley Ramirez, Shawn Green, Joe Montana, Ndamukong Suh, Tony “Goose” Siragusa, Adam Albert, Enrique Inglesias, B.o.B, Selena Gomez, Jay Sean, Eric Hutchinson, Lance Bass, Emeril Lagasse, Train, Mitchel Musso, Jay Glazer, The Band Perry, Terry Bradshaw, NKOTBSB, and Jessica Szoh also signed the baseballs!
All the proceeds from this project will be donated to the Little League Baseball Urban Initiative program which helps fund start-ups, developments, equipment, clinics and field maintenance for inner-city Little Leagues.
Little League® Baseball and Softball is the world’s largest and most respected youth sports organization. With players in every U.S. state and more than 70 other countries, the program is led by more than 1 million adult volunteers. It serves children ages 5 through 18, including physically and mentally disabled children (Challenger Division) and children in urban areas (Little League Urban Initiative).
