The combined elements from the Armed Forces of the Philippines and the Criminal Investigation Group of the Philippine National Police have finally arrested the notorious leader of the lawless elements operating in Maguindanao during the law enforcement operation conducted in General Santos City. Arrested were Mohammad Ali Tambako, former Vice Chairman for Military Affairs of Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters (BIFF), and his four companions Datukan Sato Sabiwang, Ali Valley Ludisman, Mesharie Edio Gayak and Abusahma Badrudin Guaimil aka Hansela Omar.

In support to the families of the Special Action Force casualties in Mamasapano, Maguindanao last Sunday (Jan 25), the Philippine National Police opened an account with the Land Bank of the Philippines (LBP) for cash donations intended for the said PNP SAF casualties. The Office of the Ombudsman affirmed the finding of probable cause against former Representatives Rizalina Seachon-Lañete (Masbate), Rodolfo Plaza (Agusan Del Sur), Samuel Dangwa (Benguet), Constantino Jaraula (Cagayan de Oro) and Edgar Valdez (APEC) in connection with the cases on the misuse of the Priority Development Assistance Fund (PDAF) totaling P339 million.
